Delridge Day 2012: August 18th!
Come join the fun for all ages from 11am-3pm…
Last year’s Delridge Day was a true community effort. When Amanda Leonard heard at a North Delridge Neighborhood Council meeting that Delridge Day would not happen, because the DNDA didn’t have the funds, she stepped up. With only 4 months to plan, her contagious spirit attracted several other neighbors to put on the 5th Annual Delridge Day festival in collaboration with the Delridge Skatepark Grand Opening. It was a true community success!
This year, the handful of us who planned last year’s festival are joined by several more. With the additional planning volunteers, we are adding some exciting new features:
- The first Delridge Skate Competition sponsored by Alki Bike and Board!
- A music and entertainment stage! If you have a band or group to recommend, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and share contact information by the end of June.
- A Delridge Day 2012 Festival shirt! Proceeds help us plan for 2013, and a portion is donated to ARC for scholarships to classes at the Delridge Community Center.
We learned several things last year, and plan to secure several food vendors (last year we had one of the two cancel at the last minute!). We’re applying lessons like that, and are ready to start booking vendors and securing sponsorships.
Interested in having a booth at Delridge Day? Delridge Day is an great place for you to share the goods and services of your business with the community.
