For those excited for route 50 between North Delridge and the Junction, I am afraid that there is bad news. Due to the delays on the Genesee/Avalon traffic signal, Route 50 is getting re-routed down to Spokane Street. This detour will be in effect till the traffic signal is complete.

I contacted Jim Curtin at SDOT and was informed that the Genesee/Avalon traffic signal is “top priority”:
The signal installation at Avalon and Genesee is still moving forward though we won’t be ready for the upcoming Metro service changes. We have made this project our top priority, but, unfortunately I cannot provide a definite start date just yet. We are working with our contractor to get this work initiated as soon as possible. I will drop you a note when I have more information about scheduling.
