Delridge Day is coming up quickly – August 9th.
NDNC will be hosting a booth with all kinds of fun activities for you and your family…
Holli is breaking out the old screen printing materials, so bring your blank shirt for a little jazzing up with the Heart Delridge emblem. It is super easy and fun. We will even have a drying space so you can come back after visiting the rest of the event to pick up your dried garment. If you forget or don’t have a blank shirt, NDNC will have grocery totes on hand for you to screen print. Score! Come early for this part because we can only have two printing stations running at a time. بالطبع, you will be able to purchase a Heart Delridge shirt from our stock if you don’t feel crafty ($15 each).
Kirk is playing carney with the Fish Bowl Game. Yep — that game where you toss a ping pong ball into a water cup and, if you win, you receive the goldfish inside of that cup. Except ours won’t make you cringe because there are no fish. (Gotcha!) Take a moment to make a try to win fabulous prizes for all ages.
Kirk is also working on some AWESOME magnets so make sure to pick one up.
In order to pull this all off, I do have a wish list of items that I am hoping someone out there will loan or donate to us…
- Aprons (need 3)
- Cloths pins
- Table cloths (2 banquet tables and 1 card table)
- Dress form or mannequin for Heart Delridge shirt display
I also need volunteers to help man the booth. No experience needed! I am looking for two people for 10:30 إلى 12:30 and three people for 12:30 إلى 3:30.
Please let me know if you can volunteer or donate any times. Thank you!

I am having issues with our website’s plugins. Is anyone out there an expert on what would cause a white screen on the Plugin.php page? In the mean time, I might as well update the website so stand by for a little bit of web maintenance issues over the next couple days. Sorry for any inconvenience.
At NDNC’s March monthly meeting, Giulia Pasciuto, a researcher working on a project studying low-income women’s access to healthy food in Delridge, presented her findings. Her project was sponsored by City of Seattle Councilmember Mike O’Brien and the Seattle Women’s Commission and was instigated by a Delridge-area woman who complained to the Commission about how hard it is to use WIC benefits on healthy food. اقرأ المزيد »
The Seattle Times recently ran an article about diversity in Seattle which identified the most diverse block group in the City as one in southern North Delridge.
و article identifies the exact location as just east of the High Point development. “This small area is 29% white, 26% black, 21% Asian, 16% Hispanic, و 8% other.”
Please help us clean the bike/pedestrian path across the street from the Skylark cafe this Sunday, November 17th, from 10am to 12pm.
We will meet at the Skylark cafe (3803 Delridge الطريق SW) where bags and gloves will be provided but ask that you bring safety cones and/or rakes if you have them.
Fallen leaves at this time of year can make bike/pedestrian paths slippery and clog up storm drains. Even if you are unable to join us this Sunday, please clean the sidewalks and storm drains around your home if you’re able. All of us working together can make a visible difference in our neighborhood!
Per the request of the community, DESC has agreed to rename the new building to Cottage Grove Commons.
Thanks to Kirsten Smith, Tanya Baer and Dorsol Plants for working with DESC on this issue.
